Congratulations everyone!
We recently celebrated the talent of our wonderful Youth Theatre with our Youth Theatre Awards. Each year The Courtyard Education Team nominate Youth Theatre members for our 3 Youth Theatre Awards. As much as we are incredibly proud of all of our members, there are a few that go above and beyond, and we think it is important that their achievements are celebrated.
We are very proud to announce that this year’s nominations and winners are:
Lorraine Kelly Award for Most Committed Member – Hannah Vesma (Ledbury Youth Theatre)
Hannah is a dedicated member of the Youth Theatre, contributing not only to the projects and performances she is involved in but also supporting the younger members and her peers. She consistently volunteers to work with the younger years, helps others learn their lines and choreography, makes props, attends extra rehearsals, and has recently joined the Ledbury Listening Youth Panel. Hannah is an invaluable asset to our team, and we are incredibly proud of her!
Nominations: Isaac Oliver, Poppy Stubbs
Derek Jacobi Award for Excellence in Acting – Theo Williams (Bromyard Youth Theatre)
Theo consistently gives his all to every performance and role he is in. He clearly invests so much time outside of rehearsals and sessions, always going away spending his personal time prepping and preparing characters. Theo has grown so much as a performer throughout his time in Youth Theatre, but particularly this year has blown us away with his performance in ‘Orchestra’ where he delivered an emotional monologue, and his most recent performance as the title role of The Big Friendly Giant in The BFG.
Nominations: Tilly Wright, Tasha Bugaj-Tanner, Alana Haines
Jo Brand Award for Outstanding Achievement – Caydon Cooke (Hereford Youth Theatre)
Caydon embodies everything the Youth Theatre stands for: creativity, inclusivity, and fun! As a fantastic representative on the Youth Board, he also attends board meetings at The Courtyard, advocating for our young people. As well as volunteering his time, Caydon is a wonderful performer, and has taken on the lead role of Dorian Gray this year. Caydon is full of ideas and a natural leader, but has the ability to listen and encourage others too. Caydon is the nicest guy ever and can always make the rest of the group laugh. He really is an all-rounder and will go far!
Nominations: Keeley Bryant
