A day full of circus fun!
Last week saw the return of The Courtyard’s annual Family Festival, and this year it was Circus themed! On Wednesday 30 October we hosted our Family Festival Fun Day, welcoming lots of families in for a day jam packed full of free and low cost activities, workshops, performances and events.

Performances
The Starlight Company performed outside on The Courtyard’s patio, with a range of circus themed dances.

We had incredible performances in The Courtyard Lounge throughout the day from local companies, including The Courtyard Youth Theatre, Ludwig Theatre Arts, Laura Gale Dance & Drama and X-Entricity.

The Egg Theatre company brought us a beautiful and moving puppetry show, The Midnight Mole.

The Courtyard’s resident orchestra, Orchestra of the Swan, performed a wonderful concert, Carnival of the Animals, which involved plenty of fun audience participation!

Events, workshops and activities
As well as being able to watch these exciting shows, visitors could also take part in a range of events, workshops and activities!
There was face painting with Looby Lou, circus skills with Citrus Arts, jewellery making with Alloy, Little Play World, sewing with Stitch With Kate and biscuit decorating, as well as party plaits, a sensory room, a dress up corner…

We saw some fantastic costumes on the day, had several visits from Cookie the Courtyard bear and were treated to ice creams, complete with a flake, supported by Carpigiani.
